The humble restaurant menu is your gateway into a world of succulence. At its most basic, the menu will show you what types of food are available and how much you can expect to pay for each one, but every real restaurant knows that the menu offers so much more than that as long as you do it right.
Here we will take a look at the importance of the restaurant menu and how ours can help you to get a better understanding of the best Lebanese restaurant in Coventry and Warwickshire.
Setting The Theme
Many restaurants have an overall theme that they want to stick to, which will often come through in the design of the building and the way that the food is presented. Some focus on fun and games, making them ideal for children, whereas others focus on class and prestige.
Here at Aqua, we place our focus into the mood of the restaurant itself, creating a relaxed and friendly environment that is able to welcome young and old alike. Our menu has to reflect that in terms of the colours used and the way the various dishes are presented and explained. As such, the text it contains should not be intimidating and the service staff must make sure they are available to answer any questions you may have about an item on the menu.
Providing More Information About The Restaurant
We want you to feel comfortable as soon as you sit down at Aqua Food and Mood, so having a little bit of information about our restaurant in your hand can be reassuring, particularly if it’s the first time that you have come to visit us.
As such, a good menu should tell people what they can expect from the food that they are going to order. It should offer a little bit of history, if applicable, but, more importantly, it should offer enough information about the food that people can make an informed decision. What goes into each dish, how hot is it and are there any ingredients that may be of concern to people with allergies? A good menu should provide all of that information.
A Good Variety
While all restaurants have a set number of dishes, a good menu should highlight the variety that the restaurant has to offer. After all, we all have different tastes so the menu should make it clear that there are many different dishes that can accommodate that.
This comes down to information, in part, as a simple list of dishes without context may lead a person to believe that there is little variance between them. However, a good menu should highlight the different qualities of each dish and offer plenty of variety for every course, to ensure that nobody feels like they have to order something that they don’t want to eat. Plus, the experimental foodie may enjoy exploring dishes they have never heard of before, which can only be done if there is enough variety on the menu in the first place.
Here at Aqua Food and Mood we are able to create the mood to suit any occasion. Whether it’s a nice family meal, a romantic dinner for two or a full party atmosphere that you are looking for, we are able to provide.
In fact, we consider parties something of a specialty and we love to host large groups of people who have gathered together so that they can have a good time. So why should you hold your party at Aqua? Here are just a few of the reasons.
The Food is Great
Okay, so you would probably be expecting us to say this seeing as we make the food, but it has to be said anyway. Our food tastes amazing, and we are sure you will agree when that first morsel passes your lips.
We pride ourselves on creating the best Lebanese food in Coventry, so we always ensure that all of our meals have been fine-tuned to perfection so that you can never be disappointed by what’s on your plate when you bring your party to us. As for our desserts, let’s just say that we have some traditional Lebanese treats that will blow your mind.
So what happens when you have eaten your meal and you’re just looking for a little bit of time to relax, let the meal settle and perhaps enjoy one of our cocktails? Well, you can always head out to our dedicated Shisha Garden and chill out with one of a wide variety of flavours that we have available.
Many people find that Shisha is the ideal way to end their party, as they get to enjoy the Shisha with their friends and family. It’s the perfect time to relax, have a chat and maybe relive some of those old memories that come up when you get a large group of you together again.
Aqua Food and Mood are big supporters of the live entertainment scene in both Coventry and Warwickshire, which is why we hold periodic events that feature some of the hottest talents in the area.
Whenever we do have a performer in the restaurant it is a good idea to book early to make sure that you are in prime position to see them. They can really add to the party atmosphere and add that extra little something to the night to make sure it is really special.
We Are Here For You
We always make a fuss about our customers, regardless of if they are here for a light lunch or here as part of a huge party. However, if it is your birthday, or you’re celebrating another important occasion, we like to think that we go the extra mile to make sure you have a great time.
If there are any arrangements that need to be made regarding cakes and celebrations, please do let us know when you book your table and we will be more than happy to do whatever we can to make sure the night goes as you intend it to.
There is nothing that makes us happier here at Aqua Food and Mood than seeing our customers enjoying the Lebanese cuisine that we serve each and every day. It is the reason why we do what we do and we truly would not be here without our wonderful customers.
In particular, we enjoy recognising the eating habits of our different customers. Some simply wolf their food down, enjoying every last morsel so much that they seemingly can’t wait to get onto the next bite. Others take their time and savour every mouthful, chewing slowly in an effort to get every last bit of flavour from their food.
While we would never assume we can tell people how to eat, we have found that there are many benefits that can be experience if you take your time with your food and really savour it. Here we look at a few of them that may be reason enough to try eating a little slower.
Enjoying Your Food
Many of the dishes we create at Aqua Food and Mood are made as a result of a delicate combination of ingredients that our chefs have worked to perfect over the course of many months, and even years, of cooking.
In some cases, the best way to get the absolute most out of your meal is to simply eat it slowly so that the flavours of each individual ingredient has the opportunity to merge with the others and create a taste sensation that you might otherwise have missed if you are a quick eater.
You May Lose Weight
If you are currently a little concerned about your weight and are considering starting a diet, you may be encouraged to hear that eating a little slower is believed to help you lose weight, without ever changing any of your other eating habits. In fact, some studies have claimed you can lose as much as 20 pounds a year by taking your time and eating a little slower.
The theory goes that it takes about 20 minutes for your brain to register whether or not your stomach is full. As such, if you eat too quickly you may find you overindulge. While this is a good thing on occasion, it is something to be avoided if you want to shed the pounds. By eating slower, your brain has a better idea of whether or not you are full and will send you the appropriate signals.
Do you find that you often have issues with your digestion after you have eaten? Maybe your stomach feels like its churning or you are suffering from the effects of indigestion. All of these may be signs that you are eating a little quicker than your body would like you to.
By eating slower and chewing more thoroughly, you not only get the added taste benefits with many foods, but you are also helping your body to better digest what you are eating. Simply put, the more work you do up top, the less needs to be done once the food hits your stomach.
If you are a regular viewer of our Facebook page (and if you aren’t then be sure to follow us) then you may have noticed that we occasionally like to talk about and share pictures relating to Arabic Coffee. This type of coffee is actually quite different from the regular brands that you will find on supermarket shelves, so we have decided to take a little time to have an in-depth look at Arabic Coffee and hopefully convince a few of you to give it a try the next time you come in for a visit.
Coffee actually finds its roots in Ethiopia, where its use dates all the way back to the 9th century. As the legend goes, a goat herder named Kaldi discovered that his goats had an increased level of energy when they chewed on certain berries and beans, leading to the discovery of coffee as an energising drink. It wasn’t until the 15th century that the drink found its way in Middle-Eastern and Arabic regions, but it very quickly became popular when it did, particularly during feasts and social functions.
Arabic Coffee is actually extremely healthy, and can be enjoyed practically guilt free if you are currently on a diet and want to watch your calorie count. This is because a small cup of the coffee is almost free of fat and only has a minor amount of calories. It also doesn’t contain carbohydrates, though these can be added to the coffee through sugar and cream.
As such, taking Arabic Coffee completely black is not only the best way to experience the drink in its purest form, but it is also the healthiest. We heartily recommend it, though we understand if one or two people want to cheat a little bit and add some cream and sugar as well.
There is a lot of information currently circulating about the health benefits of Arabic Coffee, all of which seems to indicate that it is surprisingly good for you.
There are a number of studies stating that coffee can play a large part in minimising the risk of contracting such ailments as dementia, heart disease and type 2 diabetes, with some studies even pointing to it as being able to combat certain forms of cancer.
Of course, given the drink’s caffeine content, a point must be made about the dangers of consuming too much of it. Arabic Coffee is a drink to be enjoyed following a wonderful meal, not one to be consumed all through the day. As great as it tastes, be sure to keep it to an occasional treat if you already drink tea, coffee or other caffeinated beverages as well.
We hope that you have found this post interesting and that you might consider giving Arabic Coffee a try next time you visit one of our restaurants. Our helpful staff will ensure that you get a perfectly prepared cup so that you can enjoy it the way it is meant to be enjoyed.
Here at Aqua Food and Mood we often talk about the wonderful taste of our stunning Lebanese cuisine, and with good reason. After all, our chefs work day and night to ensure that you get only the very best from us at all times.
However, one of the things that isn’t often highlighted is the health benefits of our food. Lebanese food is inherently healthy, so today we thought we would take a look at some of the many benefits of enjoying our fine cuisine.
The General Diet
Lebanese food places a lot of emphasis on fruits and fresh vegetables, meaning that you get all of the health benefits associated with both when you come to eat with us. Believe us, you will have no trouble whatsoever enjoying your five a day.
While the diet also includes meat, everything is cooked in olive oil and much more emphasis is placed on healthier foods than the likes of high dairy products and other less healthy foods. Furthermore, rice and lentils are much more popular than foods like bread and potatoes, meaning you can cut out a lot of the high-starch foods from your diet when you go Lebanese.
We have spoken about the benefits of parsley and mint before, so those who have read our previous posts know just how beneficial they are.
For those that haven’t, both are used quite extensively in Lebanese cooking and both have many health benefits. They will help with your digestion, with parsley being particularly rich in Vitamin K and antioxidants as well.
Mint isn’t left out though, as it is a great source of Vitamin C in addition to being one of the most wonderful and natural ways to freshen your breath. Simply put, they add to the meal and benefit you in the long run as well.
Those who eat Lebanese food on a regular basis will already be aware of Tahini, which is the traditional sauce used in many of our dishes. What they may not know is that the sauce is made using sesame seeds, which have the highest oil content of any seed.
This means that they are rich in Omega 6 acids as well as being a very good source of protein, particularly if you are on a diet and want to avoid eating chicken and other types of meat.
We mentioned a little earlier that Lebanese cuisine makes use of lentils. While this has enormous benefits in terms of the taste of the food we create, there are also a number of health benefits that are associated with this vegetable.
For a start, lentils add to the flavour of any dish by absorbing the inherent flavours of that dish, which means that if you like the food you’re eating you are very likely to enjoy the lentils served with it. The vegetable is also quite low in terms of its calorie count, in addition to being an excellent source of protein and vitamin B, so you get to eat healthier food that mimics the taste of the food you enjoy.
Here at Aqua Food and Mood we understand the importance of getting everything right when it comes to the food that you eat. Preparation is key of course, and we aim to ensure that every dish we serve is cooked to the highest possible standards, but an often underappreciated aspect of a good meal is the presentation of the food itself.
We put a lot of effort into making sure that your food looks as good as it tastes for a number of reasons.
Complete Sensory Experience
For many people, the taste of their food is all that matters. However, we like our customers to experience the food that we create using all of their senses. Taste, smell and sight are all important if your dish is to provide an experience that satisfies all of the senses.
Each dish that we create is designed to do just that. We want to make sure that you are salivating before the very first morsel of food enters your mouth, so we take the time to present your food so that it looks as good as possible to ensure that is the case.
A Good First Impression
When you sit down to a meal what is the first thing that happens? Before you taste the dish you will be looking at it first and that first impression can play a large role in your enjoyment of the food on your plate. This is especially the case when you are trying something new, as it is easy to be put off from something if you simply don’t like the look of it.
We want to ensure that we create a great first impression with every dish that we make, impressing you with our food right from the off instead of presenting you with something that doesn’t look particularly appetising, regardless of how good it actually tastes.
Perfect For Kids
We love it when families come to visit us at Aqua Food and Mood, particularly when our amazing customers bring their children along to share in the Lebanese food that we have such a strong passion for.
However, we also understand that children have the ability to be very picky with their food. This is especially the case if they are going to be eating something that they have never experienced before, as there will be a certain amount of trepidation before they take that first bite.
As such, we prepare our meals to look and taste great, ensuring that your children feel confident in trying the dish that is in front of them and allowing them to enjoy something a little bit different. Once they have had that first taste they won’t want to stop, which is something that we aim for with every dish that we make here at Aqua Food and Mood.
We would like to make our valued customers aware that the Coventry branch of Aqua Food & Mood will be closed during lunch times for the entire period of Ramadhan.
The restaurant will remain open during the standard evening hours throughout the entirety of Ramadhan.
This year Ramadhan will begin on the evening of Wednesday 17th June and will continue through to the evening of Friday 17th July.
We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause to those who make use of the restaurant during lunch hours. Normal service will be resumed following the conclusion of the holiday. We hope to see you all soon so that we can continue to bring the best Lebanese food in Coventry to all of our amazing customers.
If you need any additional information please give our Coventry restaurant a call on 02476 229 551 or contact us via the website.
Going out for a good meal is always a highlight. It lets you unwind from the stresses of the day and enjoy great food with amazing company. Better yet, a good restaurant will always go out of its way to make you feel welcomed and will make the effort to cater to your every need.
So why dine at a restaurant? Here are just five reasons why you should head out to enjoy a meal rather than staying in and cooking at home.
5. No Washing Up
Everybody hates doing the dishes, but they are a sad fact of life for anybody who cooks at home. Trying to wash all of the grime off your plates and utensils is a tedious task at best, so why not avoid it all and simply head out to grab a bite to eat?
A restaurant handles every aspect of the experience for you, so you can enjoy a great meal without having to worry about the lingering thought of those dishes.
4. Dedicated Staff
A good restaurant will have a team of diligent and hardworking staff who are committed to doing everything that they can to ensure that you enjoy your meal.
Here at Aqua Food and Mood, our staff will always work to ensure that you get what you want out of the experience. Their hard work ensures that the restaurant keeps running smoothly and continues to deliver great meals to all of our customers.
3. The Right Mood
So many people these days simply knock up a quick meal and eat it while watching the telly. When you eat at a restaurant you not only get to soak in the ambiance of the restaurant itself, but you also get to connect with the people that you are dining with.
A good restaurant will make sure that they go to great lengths to set the appropriate mood so that the dining experience is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Plus, you simply can’t put a price on precious moments shared with friends and loved ones.
2. Trying Something New
It is all too easy to simply fall into the same routines when you are cooking at home. Many find themselves simply serving up the same few dishes over and over again, without ever trying anything that’s a little bit outside of the box.
At a restaurant you have so many more options available to you, including many that you may never have tried before. This is ideal for the experimental person. After all, you never know when you might discover your new favourite dish.
1. Great Food
A good restaurant prides itself on the quality of the food that it serves to its visitors and its chefs will have spent weeks, months and even years poring over their recipes to ensure that they reach the standards that diners expect.
Eating at a restaurant not only gives you the opportunity to try something new. It also means that you get it cooked by the professionals and experience the dish exactly how it is meant to be served.
So with that in mind, why not come on over to Aqua Food and Mood? We have restaurants in Coventry and Warwick and we would love to have you pay us a visit so we can share the many joys of Lebanese cuisine with as many people as possible.
To really be a success in the restaurant industry you must truly have a passion for all that you do. Everything from the food you cook through to the service you provide must be drenched with love for the job that you’re doing.
For us at Aqua that passion is never hard to come by. We find it in so many different things every single day and we have decided to share some of the many things that make serving the best Lebanese cuisine to each and every one of you such a joy for us.
All of us at Aqua simply adore meeting the many different people who walk through our doors. We believe that everybody has a story to share and we take great delight in forming a connection with every customer that we serve. Whether it simply be through the food that we provide or through personal bonds that will be cherished long after the meal is over, meeting new people is the absolute highlight of the job and we can’t thank you enough for making this possible.
We Love Lebanese Food
As you may have gathered from this website or from visiting us in person, our Lebanese heritage is something that we take great pride in. We consider it a true privilege to be in a position where we can promote such wonderful dishes to a wider audience who may not have been able to sample them before. Lebanese food is a true passion for us and we pour every ounce of effort into ensuring that the food we serve does justice to the grand traditions of the country. The smiles on the faces of our customers tell us we are doing a good job and make all of the work extremely worthwhile.
We consider ourselves something of a family at Aqua Food and Mood, all united by the ideal of providing great food and excellent service to our customers. This would simply not be possible without a great team to do the job and we take great delight in operating as a well-oiled machine. Respect and friendship are at the core of our working environment and we truly hope that this comes across to our customers and helps to make the atmosphere at our restaurants all the more enjoyable.
Every Day is Different
There is simply no settling into a routine in the restaurant business. Every single day brings with it new challenges and new experiences that help to shape us as individuals. At the end of the day, you never quite know what’s going to happen and much of that is down to the many wonderful personalities that we have been fortunate enough to encounter through the years.
The Rewards Are Instant
Any chef, cook or restaurant worker will tell you that there are few better experiences than that of knowing that you have had an effect on another person’s life through your food, if only for a moment. We live to satisfy our customers and we take great pride and pleasure in the wonderful feedback that we receive, be it through testimonials or simply from the smile on the face of a satisfied diner.
Here at Aqua Food and Mood we aim to bring every aspect of Lebanese culture to our customers and we take special pride in the various Lebanese wines that we have on our drinks menu.
Of particular importance when it comes to Lebanese viticulture is the Chateau Musar, who are the makers of the Musar Jeune Rose wine that is amongst the most popular in our restaurants. Founded in 1930 when Gaston Hochar planted his first vineyards following his return from Bordeaux, the wines produced by the winery have been heavily influenced by the practices of that region ever since.
In 1959, Serge Hochar became the lead winemaker at the Chateau while still undertaking his studies in winemaking at Bordeaux’s University of Oenology. He brought the influences of great names in the winemaking world to Lebanon, with the teachings of Jean Riberau and Emile Peynaud having a particular influence on the drinks that he would create.
Serge would eventually hone his red wines to the point where they began achieving international acclaim. The winery’s 1967 vintage was hailed as the “Find of the Fair” at the Bristol Wine Fair in 1979 and Serge was also honoured by being named Decanter magazine’s inaugural ‘Man of the Year’ for his dedication to his craft during the Lebanese Civil War.
He has since received the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ from the German magazine Der FeinSchmeker and his sons and extended family currently play a large part in the continued operations of the winery and its expansion into other territories.
The Musar Jeune Rose
The winery is known for creating some of the best Lebanese wines available and for us the pick of the bunch is the Musar Jeune Rose, which makes an excellent accompaniment to the majority of the dishes served at Aqua Food and Mood.
Grown in the Bekaa Valley region, the grapes used in the creation of this wine are blended to perfection so that they create a beautifully smooth drink. Aromas of raspberries, red apple and blackcurrants will enchant the drinker and it works wonderfully with rich meats and other foods that are complemented by a crisp and fruity wine.
We heartily recommend that any connoisseurs that happen to visit one of our restaurants give it a try. You will certainly not be disappointed and we hope that your experience will encourage you to try some of the other wonderful Lebanese wines that we have on our drinks menu.
