Making A Great Virgin Cosmpolitan

Here at Aqua Food and Mood we like to think that we provide a versatile service that can be tailored to individual customers. This is especially the case with our drinks menu as we offer a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to suit the tastes of everybody.

Perhaps the most interesting items on our drinks menus are our mocktails. These are cocktails without the alcohol and can be great for those who want to enjoy the taste of their favourite beverage but are unable to drink alcohol for whatever reason.

Our mocktails are becoming rather popular and we have even been known to host the odd mocktail party in our time. With that in mind we thought we would share the secret of one of our most popular non-alcoholic drinks – The Virgin Cosmopolitan.

Ingredients

  • Lemonade
  • Orange Juice
  • Blackcurrant Cordial
  • Crushed Ice
  • Lime

Step 1 – Take your lemonade and orange juice and mix them into a sealed container at a ratio of 70% lemonade to 30% orange juice. Ideally this should be a bottle with a tight cap to ensure the contents don’t leak when mixing.

Step 2 – Slice your lime in half and then slice one of the halves in half again. Take one of these quarter-wedges and squeeze it into the mix.

Step 3 – Seal your container and give it a good shake. Make sure that the cap is on tight to ensure there isn’t any leaking. Once the liquids are mixed allow them to stand for about 7-10 minutes. This will eliminate any unwanted fizz in addition to giving the flavours the chance to meld together.

Step 4 – While waiting for your drink to settle crush some ice and add it to your glass.

Step 5 – Pour the contents of your container into the glass, making sure that you don’t fill the glass right to the rim.

Step 6 – Take your blackcurrant cordial and add a small dash of it to the drink. Give it a little time to mix in.

Step 7 – Take the other half of your lime and cut a slice from it. Place it on the edge of the glass.

There you have it. One gorgeous Virgin Cosmopolitan. Bear in mind that the basic steps described above can be used for most mocktails, so it may be fun to experiment with different sodas and cordials to see what flavours you can concoct on your own.

Of course, if you want a mocktail made by the professionals then you will always be welcome at Aqua Food and Mood. Both our Warwickshire and Coventry branches serve non-alcoholic drinks and we have a wide variety for you to try.
